My dear friends,

I've spent a day, unlike any I've ever spent, and never want to spend
another like it. I compose this crying. I cry in thanks as not a member
of my family has been harmed. I cry in sorrow as I watched horrible,
horrible events today (I, too, could see the towers from my classroom). I
cry in grief for all of my kids whose friends and family perished today
(and there were so, so many). I cry in anger that there are humans alive
who could perform such horrendous, brutal acts. I cry in outrage at
seeing others delight in such horror.

But mostly, I cry in emptiness -- in a place where once dwelled my faith
in human kind. What was I thinking?

And I can't seem to stop the tears....

Al
