Ok I am starting this for the fourth time - I want to give my students the
opportunity to DO something. I know that the kids of Columbine (not so far
off from me) really appreciated receiving letters from all over the world
expressing sympathy. What if each talkie took on one highschool or middle
school in New York City and wrote letter expressing our concern for what
they are going through?

Whould it create extra work for their teachers, who are also going through
the pain or would it be a good thing? I was thinking that with my big
school, we could write every school one letter, but I also thought that if
we included everybody on this HUGE list that we could involve all of our
kids in something healing. I don't know if anyone else has suggested this
because I am in too much pain to read all of the messages, for which I am
sorry, but I am not coping well. What do you think? How would I get a
list of schools for us to write? I am happy to coordinate who writes
which school, I am just at a loss for where to begin. Any takers?? Thanks!

D
