How faculty have dealt with this week's events obviously varies from
campus to campus. One of my students commented in a weekly letter
turned in this morning that she was exhausted, talked-out, because
ALL her classes had talked about the tragedies and students had
discussed them outside of class as well. She's looking forward to the
weekend as a time to get away, mentally. Other students commented
that it had been helpful to both write (just for themselves) and talk
about events. I think we need to respect students' needs* to
meditate, heal, even withdraw for a brief period.
