We have two enemies here: terrorists and terrorism. The military will deal with the
terrorists, but it will be up to us to deal with terrorism, the way of thinking that leads to
actions like these. Borrowing a page from "think globally, act locally," I have started a
program at my school called "Celebrate Others!" Students seek out someone and do something
nice for them without telling others. At the end of two weeks we will celebrate their deeds
during homeroom with pizza. (They don't know about the pizza yet.) Details are available
here: http://webenglishteacher.com/celebrate_others.html.
